FAQs

What sort of skills and projects do you work on in Studio classes?

We are proud to offer our large repetoire of classes! You can see the details here.

Are there any requirements of students?

Yes! We do have some minimum expectations because there is so much that happens in workshops and class each week. Students must be able to:

  • listen respectfully and carefully to instructions...we always have A LOT to get through in class and stopping to quiet or settle students repeatedly takes time away from those who want to be efficient in their learning

  • learn new (or develop current) skills, with a willingness to work on every activity we are spending time on, even if it's not their first choice

  • work with equipment and tools that could potentially be dangerous if students are not self-disciplined

  • clean up, etc...this is required, as it is an important skill and helps create a grateful heart as each class sets up for and serves the following class🤍

If you have questions or concerns, would you please reach out? We love our students of all abilities!

Are there supply or material fees or any additional costs?

There are no extra fees. We will provide everything needed…quality tools, materials, and ingredients.

What should my student do to prepare for and bring to class?

Hair should always be pulled back and we suggest bringing a filled water bottle. Please remind students to eat and use the restroom before coming.

What should my student leave at home?

We know many students have phones and watches. Feel free to bring them to class if you need them, but because they can be a distraction, please don’t pull them out or use them without asking first. Toys, accessories, outside food, and other distractions should also be left at home please.

Where is TCW located?

We create out of our home studio in South Jordan, Utah, just a couple minutes off of I-15 and 11400 S, easily accessible from much of the valley.

Do you offer family and multi-class discounts?

Yes! We love having siblings attend classes! We offer a 10% discount to students enrolled in more than one class and/or workshop in the same semester and the same for siblings.

Please reach out for your discount code! Text or call 385-276-2066.

Is the only homeschool option on Tuesdays at 10:30?

We offer many homeschool options! Some families drive a distance or prefer that their older and younger children help each other and work together. The Tuesday 10:30 classes is specifically designed for those homeschool siblings whose ages may not fit together into other class options. On the other hand, some families enjoy the separation and ability levels that come with dividing by age…there are many options for those families as well!

Will my returning students be learning the same skills and projects as last year?

We have so many options in our creative repertoire that an hour or two a week just scrapes the surface. There will be many new mediums each year as well as repeats of some favorites, and here’s why. Like learning an instrument, true craftsmanship develops over time. Because students grow and mature so much over the years, our classes are designed to grow with them…building on previous skills while introducing more sophisticated techniques, richer discussions, and greater independence. This allows each creative discipline to unfold in new ways over time!

That being said, we’re always happy to hear your feedback, and especially appreciate knowing what you’d love to be able to delve into a little deeper!

You mention character-building in your lessons. Do you discuss politics or religion?

There are no politics discussed in class and these are not religious classes. We do, however, come from a place of gratitude for God. As our world becomes more secular, we find it important to incorporate belief and goodness into everyday activities, so our weekly classes begin with a short focus on character and critical thinking through stories, logic, and discussions. Please touch base with any questions...we’re happy to chat!
